The Bridge of Neutrality

The Bridge of Neutrality
The Bridge of Neutrality spans the Sea of Ulmara, joining the 2 continents of Draconik and Mardrador at the narrowest point. This is no small matter, as the distance between them is nearly 25 miles.

The span of the bridge rises up nearly 200 feet from the water’s surface allowing boats to pass under with relative ease, and the pylons holding it up rise up nearly 3 to 5 times that height, depending on location. Its width varies, also dependant upon location, and there are known to be at least 2 Inns at the various rest spots found on the span.

It is likely the safest place in the entire world due to an odd property of the materials it is made from: an unknown aura radiating from the stone itself. This aura of strange silverish energy- barely perceptable to most vision- gives anything traversing its span an immunity from all harm, and prevents harm from being done. That is; no weapon, spell, psionic, or other attack is possible while on the bridge. Even fists have little use, though criminals thinking it to be a safe haven have been dragged off it to their chagrin. Reports have been verified that no weapons of any sort, magical or otherwise- common, enchanted, and even artifact can be drawn while on the span. Those already drawn brought onto the span suddenly become too heavy to wield should violence be tried, and there have been reports of weapons already drawn loosing their enchantment (some permanently) should an attempt be made. It is surmised by mages, scholars and sages that the stone radiates an odd mutation of Anti-Magic, though there is much debate on this theory since anti-magic typcally can’t prevent drawing of weapons. Another popular theory is that the stone is not of this sphere, and may be extraplanar in origin. It’s odd properties support this as no other substance on Eirth has been found like it.

The bridge is rumored to have been built before the cities of Silverglow and Darkrift, from the age when Shar (Demon) and Yanatir (Solars) warred across the lands. Given the odd stone the structure is made of, it is likely the origins will never be discovered.
